A Self Defense, Natural Healing and Environmental Survival Program based on the Chinese Medicine Principles of Shaolin Dim Mak Kung Fu and Acupuncture ~ combined with the Awareness and Protection Concepts of the United States Secret Service - Presidential Protection Detail which is rooted in the ancient martial art formerly known as the Japanese Samurai.
The "E-3 Program" is a mentally, physically and spiritually based program designed not only for the protection and health of one's self, but also for their friends and loved ones.
Dr. Joe Bannon, founder of the "E-3 Program," holds doctorate degrees in both Holistic Health Science and Theocentric Clinical Psychology. After more than two decades of research in both the Western and Eastern Healing Arts, his specialty area became focused in the fields of Combat Neuropsychology and Post Traumatic Stress Disorders. The emphasis of his research was to study the relationship between the human brain and body especially during combat, being attacked and other stressful events. This research led him to the cutting edge concept of how to improve efficient reaction time to an attack or other stressful events while teaching extremely effective techniques which greatly increase chances for survival. These concepts and techniques can be easily learned by anyone and no level of fitness or martial art background is required. This is the first time that this program is being offered to the civilian general public.
As a Martial Arts Grandmaster he is a 10th Degree Black Belt and 11 time inductee into the United States and International Martial Artist Halls of Fame. Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Fame, and the American Police Hall of Fame. He is a retired law enforcement officer and Government special agent assigned as a task force agent to the United States Secret Service - Presidential Protection Detail under Presidents Clinton and Bush. The combination of this medical, martial arts and Presidential level protection background makes the "E-3 Program" the most unique and effective program of its kind anywhere.
Dim Mak or "Dian Xue" in Mandarin Chinese, is the more than 2,000 year old art of striking selected pressure points on an opponent's body during self defense or combat. Back in its ancient days it was the most efficient and effective concept within the survival arts.
Dim Mak has not always been used to fight or for self defense. Centuries after its incorporation into combat, Dim Mak theories were used as healing techniques for the sick and injured. Its effectiveness as a medicine was so greatly valuable that it was afterwards incorporated into the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. There, it further developed into a specialized branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine known as Chinese Medical Traumatology. Thus evolved the "Two Dragons of Dim Mak." (Healing or Self Defense).
The Two Dragons together combine to form one of the greatest Shaolin Temple secrets of all time - one point that will hurt and stop an attacker, will also heal or save a life. In other words; the same Dim Mak theories that are used to hurt the body, are also used to heal the body. And the theories that are used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to heal the body are also used to calculate the effectiveness of Dim Mak pressure points for use in self defense and survival. The ancient secret is to know which Dim Mak points are used for both functions. Dim Mak could easily be referred to as the only true "Medical Martial Art."
There are more than one thousand acupuncture points on the human body. Not all of these points are used in the Combat Dragon of Dim Mak. Historically, Combative Dim Mak is said to consist of 108 secret points on the body; 72 of these points are used to maim or cripple an opponent; while 36 points are traditionally classified as Shaolin Death Points.
The Ecclesiastes 3 Program ("E-3") of Dim Mak is named after the third chapter of the biblical book of Ecclesiastes written by King Solomon who was said to be the richest and wisest man in the bible. Solomon clearly captured the true Yin / Yang essence of Dim Mak. He wrote in this text that there was clearly "A time to be born, and a time to die." "A time to break down, and a time to build up." And he also very clearly stated - "A time to kill, and a time to heal." Wisdom is the ability to be able to accurately discern the correct time and choice of application.
The Ecclesiastes 3 Program ("E-3") teaches both the time, place and application of both options (dragons) in a seminar training format. This format is presented within a 4 - 5 hour time period. The (E-3) program was designed for those who are interested in both the Self Defense and Healing attributes of Shaolin Dim Mak.
The Ecclesiastes 3 Program (E-3) is neither a style nor set of structured techniques per se. It is a self defense and healing philosophy that was taught and practiced at the ancient Shaolin Temple in China and earlier eras. Modern medical and combat science is added to create a balanced up to date program. This philosophy may be incorporated within any current martial art or healing program and will cause no conflict of either; only enhancement.
We are all given the power to heal and the power to destroy. The study and practice of specific knowledge develops this power into a refined art. The ability to discern which application of this power is appropriate for a given situation (Yin or Yang) is called wisdom. The fact that we are given two options in life is the power of choice.
Healing is always superior to destruction; but sometimes destruction is the only option left for healing. People were created with the right to freedom and to defend themselves, their families and their loved ones.
