Historically speaking, the "lineage" and origin of a martial art or style whether Dim Mak - Kung Fu or another, was considered a very important criterion for assigning an ancestral value and credibility to a specific martial philosophy, art, or style. Chinese family lineage (Gar) - "the house of" or the family creators of a style was a major criterion for the pursuit, respect, and study of that style. This is where only a select few would have the privilege to learn certain "family secrets" of that specific family’s philosophy and style.
In a more modern day perspective and use of terminology used to evaluate the credibility or accreditation of a family, a corporate name, or a fashion line of clothing; we look for brand (credible family) names such as Ford, Honda, Chevrolet, Sony, Wells Fargo, Gucci, Calvin Klein, or universities such as Harvard, Yale or UCLA. Many people today evaluate doctors, dentists, and other professionals by the credibility of the school (family lineage) that they graduated from. Although not a perfect science, it can reveal some very useful information about the quality of one’s level of knowledge, abilities and lineage. Shaolin Dim Mak, other traditional martial arts, and the more modern specialized government covert & black arts (which are actually based on the Japanese Arts of the Samurai and Ninja) are no exception.
The Surgical Strike System™ of survival is a collective compilation of Dim Mak - Kung Fu, many other extremely effective and pure traditional martial arts, Lau Kune Do - Kung Fu, and modern specialized government covert & black arts and philosophies. In today’s verbiage we would refer to this as "mixed martial arts" similar to Bruce Lee’s concepts of Jeet Kune Do. The above lineage charts delineate the detailed and direct both ancient and modern martial arts lineage of Grandmaster Joseph F. Bannon Ph.D. over the past 43 years which began in the year 1961 at the age of five, which eventually evolved into the Surgical Strike System™ of Dim Mak – Gung Fu.
